MORAVIAN MEN'S SOCCER SELECTED THIRD IN COACHES POLL
ANNVILLE, PA --- The Moravian College men's soccer team has been picked to finish third
in the 2002 Commonwealth Conference Preseason Poll as voted by the conference head coaches.
The Greyhounds received 32 points, just one ahead of fourth place Lebanon Valley College. Messiah
College, which has won five consecutive Commonwealth championships, was selected first
and garnered five first-place votes while Elizabethtown College was picked second and had
one first place vote.
Moravian, under the direction of fourth-year head coach Eric Lambinus, returns nine starters
and 16 letterwinners from last year's 13-6-2 squad that made the Commonwealth playoffs
for the second year in a row and competed in the ECAC Mid-Atlantic Championships.
The Greyhounds will open their 2002 campaign on Saturday, August 31st at the Drew University
Fall Festival with a 7:00 p.m. match against the host Rangers the preseason favorite in the
Freedom Conference.
