ZIPF NAMED COMMONWEALTH VOLLEYBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
ANNVILLE, PA --- Junior outside hitter Kim Zipf (Wyomissing, PA/Holy
Name HS) of the Moravian College women’s volleyball team has been named
the Commonwealth Conference Player of the Week for the second consecutive week for
her performance last week.
Zipf, who has earned the award for the third time this
season, paced the Greyhounds to a 2-1 record last week including a 3-0 victory over Lebanon
Valley College in Commonwealth Conference action. In the three match, Zipf averaged
3.92 kills and 6.0 digs per game and she had a .217 hitting percentage. Zipf had
16 kills and 21 digs in Moravian’s win over the Flying Dutchmen. She added 15 kills,
28 digs and three blocks in a 3-1 loss at Whittier (CA) College and 16 kills and 23 digs
in a 3-2 victory over Chapman (CA) University.
Moravian is currently 14-6 on the season and returns to action on Wednesday,
October 16th in a Commonwealth Conference match at Elizabethtown College beginning at
7:00 p.m.
