BUSCHTA NAMED COMMONWEALTH SOCCER PLAYER OF THE WEEK
ANNVILLE, PA --- Junior midfielder Jackie Buschta (Whitehall,
PA/Allentown Central Catholic HS) of the Moravian College women’s soccer
team has been named the Commonwealth Conference Player of the Week for her performance
last week.
Buschta, the second straight Moravian player to win the
award after junior Justina Bria (Warminster, PA/William Tennent HS) was
honored last week, scored a pair of goals to lead Moravian to a 2-1 victory over Drew
University in the Greyhounds only match last week. Both of Buschta’s goals
came in the first half in a span of five minutes to build a 2-0 lead. Buschta leads
Moravian in scoring this season with six goals and three assists for 15 points after
missing her entire sophomore year with a knee injury. She led the team in scoring as
a freshman.
The Greyhounds, who are 9-3-1 on the season, had their other match scheduled
for last week postponed until Tuesday, October 15th when they will travel to Elizabethtown
College for a 4:00 p.m. match.
