BERRY NAMED COMMONWEALTH WOMEN’S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
ANNVILLE, PA --- Junior Marion Berry (Avon, NJ/Avon HS) of
the Moravian College women’s tennis team has been named the Commonwealth Conference
Women’s Tennis Player of the Week for her performance last week.
Berry posted two singles victories and a doubles win
to help guide the Greyhounds to their ninth straight appearance in the Middle Atlantic
Conference Championship match. Berry had a straight sets singles win
in a 9-0 victory over Widener University and she earned another straight sets triumph
and a doubles victory versus Lycoming College in an MAC Semifinal.
The Greyhounds, who won their third straight MAC title on Monday and their
sixth title in seven years, are 14-0 this season and have won 37 straight matches. Moravian
finishes out it 2002 season with a non-conference match at Marywood University on Tuesday,
October 15th at 2:00 p.m.
