CUPPLES NAMED TO MAC FOOTBALL WEEKLY HONOR ROLL

ANNVILLE, PA --- Senior linebacker John Cupples (Allentown, PA/Allentown Central Catholic HS) of the Moravian College football team has been named to the Middle Atlantic Conference Weekly Football Honor Roll for his performances last week.

Cupples, who was named to the honor roll for the second straight week, led the Moravian defense with 11 tackles as the Greyhounds posted a 28-7 victory over Albright in MAC action. Moravian, which entered the game ranked 12th in the nation in rushing defense, allowed the Lions minus-12 yards rushing and only 225 yards to the MAC’s second ranked offense. Cupples had three solo tackles including one of Moravian’s eight tackles for loss. He also forced a fumble on the fifth play of the game that Moravian’s Jarrod Pence (Livingston, NJ/Livingston HS) ran 53 yards for a touchdown and a 7-0 lead.

Moravian, now 6-2 on the season, has a five-game winning streak, its longest since a five-game streak in 1997, and the squad has clinched a .500 season, the 13th in head coach Scot Dapp’s 16-year career. Coach Dapp is now within one victory of 100 in his career.

The Greyhounds will return to action in their final MAC game of the season on Saturday, November 9th when the squad travels to Susquehanna University for a 1:00 p.m. kickoff in Selinsgrove, PA.
