MORAVIAN AWARDED ECAC BID; GREYHOUNDS TO TRAVEL TO MCDANIEL COLLEGE
CENTERVILLE, MA --- The Moravian College football team has been awarded the school's
first-ever Eastern College Athletic Conference berth as the Greyhounds have been selected
to play in one of three ECAC South Championship games on Saturday, November 23rd.
Moravian, which has posted a 7-3 record this season, will travel to McDaniel College,
8-2 on the year, for a 12:00 p.m. kickoff in the ECAC Southeast Championship. Saturday's
other games will have Johns Hopkins University (8-2) at Frostburg State University (6-4)
and Wilkes University (6-4) at King's Point (7-3).
The Greyhounds are making their first postseason appearance since losing at Washington & Jefferson
College in the first round of the NCAA Division III Playoffs back in 1993. The last time
Moravian played McDaniel, formerly known as Western Maryland College, was back in 1982
with the Greyhounds earning a 14-11 victory. Moravian has won seven of the ten games played
between the two schools.
The ECAC North Championship games will have Westfield State (MA) College at SUNY Cortland,
Curry (MA) College at Hartwick (NY) College and Rensselear Polytechnic Institute of Technology
(NY) at Worcester State (MA) College.
