FOUR GREYHOUNDS HONORED ON COMMONWEALTH
ALL-CONFERENCE WOMEN’S SOCCER TEAMS
ANNVILLE --- Junior midfielder Jackie Buschta (Whitehall, PA/Allentown Central
Catholic HS) of the Moravian College women’s soccer team has been named
to the 2002 Commonwealth All-Conference First Team while teammates junior defender Justina
Bria (Warminster, PA/William Tennent HS), junior midfielder Heather
Bichler (Waverly, PA/Abington Heights HS) and freshman forward Megan
Collins (Dover, DE/Caesar Rodney HS) were honored with All-Conference Second
Team accolades as announced by the Middle Atlantic Corporation Wednesday.
The Greyhounds completed the 2002 season with a 10-6-2.
Buschta, who missed the entire 2001 campaign with a knee injury after
being on the All-Conference First Team and the Commonwealth Rookie of the Year in 2000,
led Moravian in scoring this season with 20 points on eight goals and four assists. She
had three game-winning goals this season. Buschta heads into her senior
season tied for fifth in school history in scoring with 41 points.
Bria, who was also a Second Team as a freshman and the First Team last
fall, played center midfield as well as defender this season. Bria contributed
six points on two goals and two assists this fall with one game-winning goal.
Bichler, who made the All-Conference Second Team for the second consecutive
year, scored a goal and three assists for five points this season.
Collins scored 11 points in her debut season with the Greyhounds including
four goals, two of which won matches, and three assists.
