FOUR GREYHOUNDS NAMED TO NFHCA DIVISION III NATIONAL ACADEMIC SQUAD

GLEN ALLEN, VA --- Four members of the Moravian College field hockey team have been named to the 2002 National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division III National Academic Squad announced Tuesday by the NFHCA.

Junior forward Rachel Crocker (Bethlehem, PA/Northampton HS), sophomore Kelly Boone (Reading, PA/Muhlenberg HS) and freshmen Jill Brinckman (East Greenville, PA/Upper Perkiomen HS) and Alana Speicher (Fleetwood, PA/Brandywine Heights HS) represented the Greyhounds on the squad which included 772 NCAA Division III players.

To be named to the NFHCA National Academic Squad, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.30 grade-point average through the first semester of the 2002-03 academic year.

The quartet helped the Greyhounds post a 4-14 record in 2002 including a 1-6 mark in the Commonwealth Conference. Crocker scored a goal and an assist for three points while Boone tallied one goal. Brinckman started all 18 matches and had one assist and a defensive save while Speicher participated in 13 contests.
