BORTZ, HENNESSY & SOFTBALL TEAM RANKED IN NCAA STATS

INDIANAPOLIS, IN --- Two members of the Moravian College softball team and the Greyhounds are ranked in the top 40 in the nation in the second NCAA Division III statistics release of the season. The rankings are for games played through April 20th.

Sophomore shortstop Heather Bortz (Allentown, PA/Parkland HS) is 39th in the nation with a .460 batting average with 40 hits in 87 at-bats. On the mound, freshman pitcher Meagan Hennessy (Freehold, NJ/Freehold Township HS) is 26th in ERA at 0.97 (allowing 13 earned runs in 94 innings of work) and 27th in strikeouts per seven innings with an average of 7.4 (100 strikeouts in 94 innings).

The Greyhound team is ranked 18th in the country in earned run average with a team ERA of 1.12 (30 earned runs in 188 innings).

Moravian is 23-7 overall and 8-2 in the Commonwealth Conference. The Greyhounds will return to action on Saturday, April 26th in a Commonwealth doubleheader at Albright College beginning at 1:00 p.m.
