MORAVIAN MEN’S SOCCER SELECTED THIRD IN COACHES POLL

ANNVILLE, PA --- The Moravian College men’s soccer team has been picked to finish third in the 2003 Commonwealth Conference Preseason Poll as voted by the conference head coaches.

The Greyhounds received 45 points and one first-place vote. Messiah College, which has won six consecutive Commonwealth championships, was selected first with 60 points and garnered six first-place votes while Elizabethtown College was picked second with 54 points and had one first place vote.

Moravian, under the direction of fifth-year head coach Eric Lambinus, returns eight starters and 15 letterwinners from last year’s 12-9-2 squad that made the Commonwealth playoffs for the third year in a row and competed in the ECAC Mid-Atlantic Championships for the second consecutive season.

The Greyhounds will open their 2003 campaign on Saturday, August 30th at the Drew University Fall Festival with a 7:00 p.m. match against the host Rangers, the preseason favorite in the Freedom Conference.
