MORAVIAN FIELD HOCKEY PICKED SEVENTH IN COACHES POLL
ANNVILLE, PA --- The Moravian College field hockey team has been selected to finish seventh
in the 2003 Commonwealth Conference Preseason Poll as voted by the conference head coaches.
The Greyhounds received 13 points in the poll. Messiah College, which won the Commonwealth
Championship a year ago, received all eight first place votes for 64 points. Lebanon Valley
College was second with 51 points while Juniata College was selected to finish third with
44 points, just three points ahead of fourth place Elizabethtown College.
Moravian, under the direction of first-year head coach Amy Endler, returns
five starters and nine letterwinners from last year’s 4-14 squad.
The Greyhounds will open their 2003 campaign on Tuesday, September 2nd in a non-conference
game at Philadelphia Biblical University at 4:00 p.m.
