ZALESKI NAMED HONORABLE MENTION ECAC SOURTHERN ALL-STAR
CENTERVILLE, MA --- Junior forward Brandon Zaleski (Hackettstown, NJ/Hackettstown
HS) of the Moravian College men’s basketball team has been named an Honorable
Mention Eastern College Athletic Conference Southern All-Star announced Friday.
Zaleski, who was on the Commonwealth All-Conference First Team this
season, was a member of the ECAC Southern All-Star First Team in 2002-03.
Zaleski helped the Greyhounds post a 10-15 overall record and led the
Greyhounds in scoring at 19.7 points per game and in rebounding at 7.2 boards a contest. Zaleski ranks
first in the Commonwealth Conference in scoring and fourth in rebounding. Zaleski also
has a team high 20 blocked shots, and he has contributed 37 steals, 37 assists and six
three-pointers. Zaleski is shooting 52.8 percent (186 of 352) from the
floor, 25.0 percent (6 of 24) behind the three-point line and 78.1 percent (114 of 146)
at the foul line. He is fifth in the Commonwealth in field goal percentage and eighth in
free throw percentage.
Zaleski became the 17th player in school history to reach 1,000 points
during the Scotty Wood Tournament in November. He currently has 1,461 points, which is
fifth all-time, and he has 546 career rebounds. Zaleski has also won numerous
awards in his career including being named the Commonwealth Conference Rookie of the Year
and a Second Team All-Conference selection in his freshman year. A year ago, Zaleski has
been named the Lehigh Valley Small College Men’s Basketball Player of the Year, the
Most Valuable Player of the Emmanuel (MA) Tap-Off Tournament and to the All-Tournament
Team at the Greyhound Rock Classic, Commonwealth All-Conference First Team and Commonwealth
Conference Player of the Year. This season, he was named the Most Valuable Player of the
Scotty Wood Tournament and the 26th Annual Greyhound Rock Classic, and Zaleski was
on the D3hoops.com Mid-Atlantic All-Region Third Team.
