THREE GREYHOUNDS & MORAVIAN SOFTBALL TEAM RANKED IN NCAA STATISTICS
INDIANAPOLIS, IN --- Three members of the Moravian College softball team and the squad
itself are ranked in the third NCAA Division III statistics ranking of the season released
Wednesday.
Senior third baseman Janelle Brey (Allentown, PA/Dieruff HS) is 20th
in the nation in RBIs per game at 1.15 and 28th in home runs per game at 0.21. Junior shortstop Heather
Bortz (Allentown, PA/Parkland HS) is 10th in batting average with a .512 average
while sophomore pitcher Meagan Hennessy (Freehold, NJ/Freehold Township HS) is
10th in saves at 3.0, 23rd in earned run average at 0.69 and 28th in victories at 16.0.
The Greyhounds are third in the country in winning percentage at .912, fifth in fielding
percentage at .972 and 23rd in earned run average at 1.12.
Moravian, which has an overall record of 31-3 and is ranked seventh in the nation in
the latest National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division III Top 25 Poll, is scheduled
to return to action on Friday, April 30th as the top seed at the 2004 Commonwealth Conference
Tournament. The Greyhounds will play fourth-seeded Juniata College at 11:00 a.m. at Lebanon
Valley College in Annville, Pennsylvania.
