THREE GREYHOUNDS & MORAVIAN SOFTBALL TEAM RANKED IN NCAA STATISTICS
INDIANAPOLIS, IN --- Three members of the Moravian College softball team and the squad
itself are ranked in the fifth NCAA Division III statistics ranking of the season released
Wednesday.
Senior third baseman Janelle Brey (Allentown, PA/Dieruff HS) is tied
for 22nd in the nation in RBIs per game at 1.10. Junior shortstop Heather Bortz
(Allentown, PA/Parkland HS) is 18th in batting average with a .483 average and
28th in runs per game with an average of 1.10 while sophomore pitcher Meagan Hennessy
(Freehold, NJ/Freehold Township HS) is 11th in saves at 3.0, 32nd in earned run
average at 0.89 and 23rd in victories at 19.0.
The Greyhounds are second in the country in winning percentage at .902, second in fielding
percentage at .975 and 28th in earned run average at 1.16.
Moravian, which has an overall record of 37-4 and is ranked seventh in the nation in
the latest National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division III Top 25 Poll, will return
to action on Friday, May 14th in the NCAA Division III World Series versus Chapman (CA)
University in Salem, Virginia at 11:00 a.m.
