KIM HUGHES & MORAVIAN WOMEN’S BASKETBALL SQUAD RANKED
IN NCAA STATISTICS

INDIANAPOLIS, IN --- Senior guard Kim Hughes (Manasquan, NJ/St. Rose HS) is ranked in a pair of categories and the Moravian College women’s basketball team is also ranked nationally in the first NCAA Division III women’s basketball statistical rankings released by the NCAA on Wednesday.

Hughes, who has helped the Greyhounds to a 6-3 start to the season, was ranked fourth in the country at the beginning of the week with a free throw percentage of 93.2 percent (41 of 44). Hughes is also ranked 38th in the nation in three-point field goals per game with an average of 2.6 (23 three-pointers in nine games).

Moravian is ranked 14th in the nation as a team in free throw percentage, making 75.1 percent of its free throws (193 of 257). The Greyhounds have the best single game performance of the season at the charity stripe this year and in the history of the NCAA with a 35-for-35 performance versus Susquehanna University on December 7, 2003.

The Greyhounds will return to action on Friday, January 9th and Saturday, January 10th as they host the 3rd Annual Starters Moravian Winter Classic in Johnston Hall with William Paterson University, The College of New Jersey and The University of Scranton.
