LUCAS MALISHCHAK, KIM HUGHES & MORAVIAN WOMEN’S BASKETBALL SQUAD RANKED IN NCAA STATISTICS

INDIANAPOLIS, IN --- Senior guards Kim Hughes (Manasquan, NJ/St. Rose HS) and Lucas Malishchak (Wanamie, PA/Nanticoke HS) are ranked and the Moravian College women’s basketball team is also ranked nationally in the second NCAA Division III basketball statistical rankings released by the NCAA on Wednesday.

Hughes, who has helped the Greyhounds to a 7-4 start to the season, is ranked tenth in the country in free throw percentage at 90.2 percent (46 of 51). Hughes is also ranked 50th in the nation in three-point field goals per game with an average of 2.4 (26 three-pointers in 11 games).

The Moravian women are ranked 14th in the nation as a team in free throw percentage, making 74.6 percent of their free throws (220 of 295). The Greyhounds have the best single game performance of the season at the charity stripe this year and in the history of the NCAA with a 35-for-35 performance versus Susquehanna University on December 7, 2003.

The Greyhounds will return to action on Wednesday, January 14th when they travel to Lebanon Valley College for a Commonwealth Conference game beginning at 7:00 p.m.

Malishchak is ranked 47th in the nation this week in assists per game with an average of 4.9 assists per contest (59 assists in 12 games). The Moravian men are 7-6 overall and will return to action on Thursday, January 15th when the Greyhounds host the University of Scranton at 8:00 p.m. in Johnston Hall.
