MORAVIAN SOPHOMORE MEGAN COLLINS NAMED TO NSCAA/adidas MID-ATLANTIC ALL-REGION SQUAD

MISSION, KS --- Sophomore forward Megan Collins (Dover, DE/Caesar Rodney HS) of the Moravian College women’s soccer team has been named to the 2003 National Soccer Coaches Association of America/adidas Mid-Atlantic All-Region Second Team announced by the NSCAA.

Collins helped the Greyhounds, which were ranked seventh in the Mid-Atlantic Region by the NCAA and eighth by the NSCAA late in the season, to a 12-4-4 record this season. Moravian had a 5-1-1 slate in the Commonwealth Conference and was the third seed in the Commonwealth Conference Tournament. Moravian also competed in the Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III Mid-Atlantic Tournament as the sixth seed and reached the finals before falling to top-seeded Carnegie Mellon University. The Greyhounds made the postseason for the third time in four years and the ECAC berth was the first in school history.

Collins, who was a member of the Commonwealth All-Conference First Team this season and the Second Team a year ago, led the Greyhounds in scoring this season with 11 goals and five assists for 27 points. Her 11 goals were the fifth most in a single season at Moravian while her 27 points also ranked as the fifth highest single season in school history. Collins has 15 goals and eight assists in two seasons.
