MORAVIAN
FIELD HOCKEY PICKED EIGHTH IN COACHES POLL
ANNVILLE, PA --- The Moravian
College field hockey team has been selected to finish eighth in the 2004 Commonwealth
Conference Preseason Poll as voted by the conference head coaches.
The Greyhounds received ten
points in the poll. Messiah College, which won the Commonwealth Championship a year ago,
received seven first place votes for 49 points. Lebanon Valley College was second with
40 points while Juniata College was selected to finish third with 37 points. Susquehanna
University was fourth with 33 points and had the final first place vote.
Moravian, under the direction
of second-year head coach Amy Endler, returns seven starters and 14
letterwinners from last year’s 4-14 squad.
The Greyhounds will open
their 2004 campaign on Saturday, September 4th in a non-conference game versus Haverford
College at 1:00 p.m.
