BECKY DERINGER NAMED COMMONWEALTH CONFERENCE WOMEN’S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
ANNVILLE, PA --- Senior Becky
Deringer (Allentown, PA/Dieruff HS) of the Moravian College women’s
tennis team has been named the Commonwealth Conference Women’s Tennis Player
of the Week for her performance last week.
Deringer had
an undefeated week in singles and doubles action to lead Moravian to a pair of victories
last week. The Greyhounds are 7-0 on the season and have captured 22 straight matches.
Deringer is playing the top position in both flights. Deringer did not
lose a game in a singles victory and a doubles match with senior Jillian Iacovelli
(Randolph, NJ/Randolph HS) versus Widener University in Commonwealth Conference
action. Deringer then had a straight sets win and another doubles victory
with Iacovelli in 8-1 win versus NCAA Division II East Stroudsburg University
of Pennsylvania.
Moravian is slated to return
to action on Tuesday, September 21st in a non-conference match at Drew University beginning
at 4:30 p.m. in Madison, New Jersey.
