NICOLE GRUBER NAMED COMMONWEALTH
WOMEN’S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
ANNVILLE, PA --- Junior Nicole
Gruber (Lebanon, PA/Lebanon HS) of the Moravian College women’s tennis
team has been named the Commonwealth Conference Women’s Tennis Player of the
Week for her performance last week.
Gruber,
who plays third singles and third doubles for the Greyhounds, had an undefeated week
in singles and doubles action to lead Moravian to a 2-1 record last week as the team
clinched its 11th consecutive postseason appearance. Gruber won a three
set singles match and posted a win in doubles action with partner freshman Leah
Bradshaw (Perkasie, PA/Pennridge HS) in a 5-4 loss at Drew University. Gruber also
had wins in both singles and doubles in a 9-0 win at Albright College and a 7-2 victory
versus Susquehanna University.
Moravian is 9-1 overall and
5-0 in the Commonwealth Conference. The Greyhounds are slated to return to action on
Tuesday, September 28th in a Commonwealth Conference match versus Lebanon Valley College
beginning at 3:30 p.m.
