MORAVIAN REMAINS 28th IN DON HANSEN’S FOOTBALL GAZETTE TOP 40

WESTMONT, IL --- The Moravian College football team has remained 28th in this week’s Don Hansen’s National Weekly Football Gazette Division III Top 40 poll for the fourth consecutive week.

The Greyhounds, who are 7-0 overall and 7-0 in the Middle Atlantic Conference, debuted in the poll six weeks ago at 34th and moved up one spot to 33rd after defeating Lebanon Valley College, 27-20. Moravian then jumped five spots four weeks ago after a 21-18 come-from-behind victory in the final minute versus King’s College. The Greyhounds remained in 28th place after a 34-27 victory at Wilkes University and a 35-27 win over FDU-Florham, and Moravian has kept the same spot this week after defeating Lycoming College, 35-14. Delaware Valley College, the only MAC team Moravian doesn’t play this season, is ranked 20th in the poll. The 7-0 start is the best-ever Moravian.

Moravian will be looking for its first 8-0 in school history and tie the school record winning streak set in 1939 and 1940 on Saturday, October 30th when the Greyhounds travel to Widener University for their final MAC road game at Leslie C. Quick, Jr. Stadium in Chester beginning at 1:00 p.m.
