MORAVIAN’S BRANDON ZALESKI NAMED COMMONWEALTH CONFERENCE
MEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
ANNVILLE, PA --- Senior forward Brandon Zaleski (Hackettstown, NJ/Hackettstown
HS) of the Moravian College men’s basketball team has been named the Commonwealth
Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for his performance last week.
Zaleski led Moravian to its first two wins of the season as the Greyhounds
began the 2004-05 Commonwealth Conference season with a pair of victories. Zaleski began
the week with 22 points and ten rebounds in a 74-61 loss at Muhlenberg College. During
the game, Zaleski became the fifth player in Moravian history to score
1,500 points, and he moved into fourth in Moravian’s all-time scoring list. He contributed
24 points and 11 boards in Moravian’s 94-91 overtime victory versus Widener University,
which snapped an eight-game losing streak dating back to last season. Zaleski finished
the week with 15 points and seven rebounds in an 86-79 win at Susquehanna. Zaleski made
52.3 percent of his field goal attempts (23 of 44), and he added a one-of-two performance
behind the three-point line and a 14 of 17 performance (82.4 percent) from the four line.
Moravian, 2-4 overall and 2-0 in Commonwealth Conference action, will return to action
on Wednesday, December 8th in a non-conference game at the University of Scranton tipping
off at 8:00 p.m. at the Long Center in Scranton.
