MORAVIAN’S SEAMAN AND WENDERFER NAMED LEHIGH VALLEY SMALL
COLLEGE BASKETBALL TEAMS OF THE MONTH

BETHLEHEM, PA --- Junior Stephanie Seaman (Bethlehem, PA/Bethlehem Catholic HS) and junior Steve Wenderfer (Chester, NJ/Mendham HS) from the Moravian College basketball teams have been named to the Lehigh Valley Small College Basketball Teams of the Month for December by the Lehigh Valley Small College Basketball Organization at its first luncheon of the 2004-05 season at Starters Restaurant in Bethlehem.

The Lehigh Valley Small College Basketball Organization is made up of the seven small college schools in the Lehigh Valley including NCAA Division II schools East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania and Kutztown University of Pennsylvania and NCAA Division III schools Cedar Crest College, Delaware Valley College, DeSales University, Moravian College and Muhlenberg College.

Seaman, a forward, has helped the Moravian women open the year with a 5-1 overall record and a 2-0 record in Commonwealth Conference action. Seaman currently leads the squad in scoring at 14.7 points per game, and she is second on the squad in rebounding at 6.5 boards per contest. Seaman has also 11 assists, four steals and three blocked shots. She was named the Commonwealth Conference Player of the Week on November 22nd after being named the Most Valuable Player of the Catholic University Tip-Off Tournament.

Joining Seaman on the December Team of the Month were Amanda Swartz from Cedar Crest, Rachel Joyce of Delaware Valley, Alyssa Antolick from DeSales, Niki Cox of East Stroudsburg, Megan Bainbridge from Kutztown and Kristen Piscadlo of Muhlenberg.

Wenderfer, a forward, has led the Greyhounds to a 2-4 record in the first month of the season, but more importantly, a 2-0 record in Commonwealth Conference action. Wenderfer is second on the squad in scoring at 13.3 points per game, and he leads the team with 8.8 rebounds per contest. Wenderfer has had a pair of double-doubles this season including a career high 19 points to go with 13 rebounds in an 86-79 victory at Susquehanna University last Saturday.

Joining Wenderfer on the December Team of the Month were Isaiah Pinckney of Delaware Valley, Michael Venafra from DeSales, Anthony Ross of East Stroudsburg, Bobby Eberhart from Kutztown and Donte Borden of Muhlenberg.

The next Lehigh Valley Small College Basketball Luncheon is scheduled for Tuesday, January 11th at Starters Restaurant in Bethlehem.
