FOUR GREYHOUNDS & TEAM RANKED IN 14TH NCAA FOOTBALL
STATISTICS RELEASE OF 2004

INDIANAPOLIS, IN --- Four different players from the Moravian College football team are ranked in six categories in the 14th NCAA III Division football statistical ranking released Tuesday. The Greyhounds are also listed in two team categories in the statistics through games of December 11th.

Sophomore tailback Chris Jacoubs (Fair Haven, NJ/Rumson-Fair Haven Regional HS) is fifth in the nation in rushing with an average of 162.6 yards per game, 15th in scoring at 10.4 points per game and seventh in all purpose yards per game at 176.5. Jacoubs also has the 15th highest (257 yards at Lebanon Valley College) single game rushing yardage and 11th best (295 yards versus Albright College) all-purpose single game yardage this season among all NCAA Division III players.

Senior wide receiver Jed Warsager (Andover, NJ/Newton HS), who was named a Don Hansen’s Football Gazette Third Team All-American as a return specialist, is seventh in the nation in kickoff returns with an average of 29.7 yards per kickoff return while senior punter John McLain (Belvidere, NJ/Belvidere HS) is currently 26th in the nation with an average of 38.7 yards per punt. Senior linebacker Bill Carasia (Fair Haven, NJ/Rumson-Fair Haven HS) is tied for 29th in the nation in forced fumbles at 0.33 per game.

As a team, Moravian is tied for 29th in rushing offense at 231.0 yards per game and 34th in turnover margin with a +0.80 per game.

The Greyhounds finished the 2004 season with an overall record of 7-4 and a 7-2 slate in Middle Atlantic Conference action. Moravian began the season with a school record 7-0 start. Moravian closed out its season with a 37-20 loss to Franklin & Marshall College in the 2004 ECAC Southwest Championship game.
