MORAVIAN’S GEORGE GRAY & RYAN WILKINS NAMED TO 2004
NSCAA/adidas
COLLEGE MEN SCHOLAR ALL-EAST REGION HONORABLE MENTION TEAM
MISSION, KS --- Junior defender George Gray (Collegeville, PA/Perkiomen Valley
HS) and senior defender Ryan Wilkins (Metuchen, NJ/Metuchen HS) of
the Moravian College men’s soccer team have been named to the 2004 NSCAA/adidas
College Men Scholar All-East Region Honorable Mention Team announced by the National
Soccer Coaches Association of America.
To be eligible for NSCAA/adidas Scholar All-Region honors, a student-athlete must maintain
at least a 3.30 grade-point average and be a starter or significant reserve for their team.
Gray and Wilkins helped the Greyhounds to an 8-8-1
overall record this season including a 2-5 mark in Commonwealth Conference action. Of Moravian’s
eight losses this season, five were by the score of 1-0 including one overtime match, and
three of the losses were to teams that were nationally ranked at some point during the
season.
Gray started all 17 matches for the Greyhounds on defense this season
while Wilkins saw action 16 contests with 11 starts. Wilkins scored
the only goal of his collegiate career in Moravian’s final match of the season on
a penalty kick.
