MORAVIAN’S KELLY APPLEGATE & BRANDON ZALESKI NAMED TO
MIDDLE ATLANTIC STATES COLLEGIATE ATHLETIC CORPORATION
BASKETBALL WEEKLY HONOR ROLLS

ANNVILLE, PA --- Sophomore forward Kelly Applegate (Easton, PA/Wilson HS) of the Moravian College women’s basketball team and senior forward Brandon Zaleski (Hackettstown, NJ/Hackettstown HS) of the Moravian men’s basketball squad have been named the Middle Atlantic States Collegiate Athletic Corporation Weekly Honor Roll for their performances last week.

Applegate led Moravian to a 76-68 victory versus Drew University in the team’s only game last week. Applegate scored a season high 14 points to go with six rebounds, an assist and a blocked shot in 19 minutes of action. During the game, Applegate connected on four of seven field goals and six of seven free throw attempts. Moravian, 7-2 overall and 2-0 in Commonwealth Conference action, will return to action on Tuesday, January 4, 2005 in a non-conference game at Wilkes University tipping off at 6:00 p.m.

Zaleski led the Greyhounds to a 93-33 victory over Drew in the squad’s only contest last week. Zaleski scored a game high 13 points, including 11 in the first half when Moravian built a 44-22 lead, and he added six rebounds, three assists and two steals in 21 minutes of action. Zaleski made just three of eight field goals but was seven of eight from the foul line in the victory. The Greyhounds, 3-6 overall and 2-0 in Commonwealth Conference action, are slated to return to the court on Wednesday, December 22nd when Moravian travels to Easton to play NCAA Division I Lafayette College at 7:00 p.m. in Kirby Sports Center.
