MORAVIAN’S STEPHANIE SEAMAN NAMED WOMEN’S DIII NEWS
JANUARY PLAYER OF THE MONTH
BEAVERTON, OR --- Junior forward Stephanie Seaman (Bethlehem, PA/Bethlehem Catholic
HS) of the Moravian College women’s basketball team has been named the
Women’s DIII News January Player of the Month for her performance last month.
Seaman led the Greyhounds to a 9-0 month in which the team scored at
least 72 points in every game and won by an average of 21.6 points per game. Seaman led
the team in scoring at 17.3 points per game and rebounding at 8.6 boards per contest for
the month and was named the MVP of the 4th Annual Starters Moravian Winter Classic, her
second tournament MVP award of the season.
Seaman, who was named the Commonwealth Conference Player of the Week,
the ECAC Southern Division III Player of the Week and to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week
for her performance in the last week of the month, also averaged 1.9 assists and 1.9 steals
per game last month. Seaman made 56 of 101 field goal attempts (55.4 percent)
during the month of January and she connected on three of four three-pointers and 41 of
55 free throw attempts (74.5 percent) while playing an average of 27.3 minutes per game.
Moravian, 16-3 overall and 7-1 in the Commonwealth Conference, will return to action
on Saturday, February 5th in a Commonwealth Conference game versus Juniata College tipping
off at 4:00 p.m. in Johnston Hall in Bethlehem.
