MORAVIAN COLLEGE BASKETBALL TEAMS TO HOST
“Coaches versus Cancer Day - Assist with the Fight!”
FEBRUARY 12, 2005
BETHLEHEM, PA --- The Moravian College men’s and women’s basketball teams
will be hosting a “Coaches versus Cancer Day” on Saturday February 12, 2005
in a Commonwealth Conference doubleheader with Messiah College.
The women’s game begins at 2:00 p.m. with the men’s contest at 4:00 p.m. The “Coaches
vs. Cancer” program increases awareness, while raising funds for the American Cancer
Society’s research, education, and patient services. The basketball teams are asking
that fans join in this fight. All proceeds from pledges, raffles, and concessions will
be donated to the American Cancer Society.
The Greyhounds will also be selling raffle tickets for lift tickets to Camelback Ski
Area, gift certificates to Quizno’s, Victory Pizza, and a gift certificate to the
Moravian College Bookstore. The teams will also be accepting pledges for each assist the
Moravian teams make in the doubleheader. (Currently, the men’s team is averaging
13 assists and the women are averaging 17, so a pledge of $1 would be a $30 donation for
the evening.)
Pledge sign up sheets will be available near the entrances of Johnston Hall on Saturday,
February 12th. If you can not attend the game, but wish to make a pledge, please contact
Amy Endler, Moravian assistant women’s basketball coach, by email at fieldhockey@moravian.edu or
by phone at (610) 861-1404 and your name will be added to the pledge sheet.
