MORAVIAN’S JENNY HACKLEMAN NAMED COMMONWEALTH CONFERENCE
WOMEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
ANNVILLE, PA --- Sophomore forward Jenny Hackleman (Solvang, CA/Rutgers Prep
{NJ} HS) of the Moravian College women’s basketball team has been named
the Commonwealth Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for her performance
last week.
Hackleman helped Moravian to a 2-0 record last week as the Greyhounds
clinched a playoff berth for the fourth straight season and at least the second seed in
the upcoming Commonwealth Conference Tournament.
Hackleman averaged 17.0 points and 8.0 rebounds per game last week for
Moravian while shooting 68.4 percent (13 of 19) from the field. In the Greyhounds’ 77-62
victory at Lebanon Valley College, Hackleman scored 14 points and added
seven rebounds and two assists. She finished the week with a career high 20 points and
a game high nine rebounds to lead Moravian to a 71-64 victory over nationally ranked Messiah
College. The win over the Falcons snapped a 12-game losing streak to Messiah for Moravian
and gave the Greyhounds a one game lead for the top seed in the Commonwealth Tournament.
Moravian, 19-3 overall and 10-1 in the Commonwealth Conference, will return to action
on Tuesday, February 15th in a Commonwealth Conference game at Albright College tipping
off at 6:00 p.m. in Reading.
