ZALESKI NAMED TO COMMONWEALTH ALL-CONFERENCE FIRST TEAM
ANNVILLE, PA --- Senior forward Brandon Zaleski (Hackettstown, NJ/Hackettstown
HS) of the Moravian College men’s basketball team has earned a spot on
the Commonwealth All-Conference First Team for the third consecutive season announced
Monday.
Joining Zaleski on the All-Conference First Team were Trevor Deeter
of Albright College, Kyle Conrad from Elizabethtown College, Bubba Mills of Susquehanna
University and J.D. Byers of Lebanon Valley College, who garnered Commonwealth Player of
the Year accolades. Rick Ferry of Albright was named the Commonwealth Coach of the Year
while Mike Malko of Susquehanna was named the Commonwealth Conference Rookie of the Year.
Zaleski helped the Greyhounds post a 7-18 overall record and led the
Greyhounds in scoring at 17.2 points per game. Zaleski, who was second
in rebounding at 7.1 boards a contest, ranks second in the Commonwealth Conference in scoring
and sixth in rebounding. Zaleski also had a team high 20 blocked shots,
and he contributed 30 steals, 44 assists and ten three-pointers. Zaleski shot
46.5 percent (144 of 310) from the floor, 38.5 percent (10 of 26) behind the three-point
line and 76.7 percent (132 of 172) at the foul line. He is 13th in the Commonwealth in
field goal percentage and seventh in free throw percentage.
Zaleski became Moravian’s men’s all-time leading scorer
last week and finished his career with 1,891 points, and he also finished his career at
Moravian ranked fourth in career rebounds with 723. Zaleski has also won numerous awards
in his career including being named the Commonwealth Conference Rookie of the Year and
a Second Team All-Conference selection in his freshman year. Two years ago, Zaleski has
been named the Lehigh Valley Small College Men’s Basketball Player of the Year, the
Most Valuable Player of the Emmanuel (MA) Tap-Off Tournament and to the All-Tournament
Team at the Greyhound Rock Classic, Commonwealth All-Conference First Team and Commonwealth
Conference Player of the Year.
Last season, he was named the Most Valuable Player of the Scotty Wood Tournament and the
26th Annual Greyhound Rock Classic and to the Commonwealth All-Conference First Team. This
season, Zaleski earned a spot on the All-Tournament Team at the 27th Annual
Starters Greyhound Classic.
