GREYHOUND WOMEN’S BASKETBALL RECEIVES VOTES IN USA TODAY/ESPN/WBCA DIVISION III TOP 25 COACHES POLL

LILBURN, GA --- The Moravian College women’s basketball team fell out of the Top 25 but still received votes in this week’s USA Today/ESPN/Women’s Basketball Coaches Association Division III Top 25 Coaches poll released late Tuesday.

The Greyhounds, who are 21-4 overall and 12-2 in Commonwealth Conference action, received five points this week, second of the five teams that received votes outside of the Top 25. Moravian had 12 points and were in the 25th spot in the poll a week ago, the first time since the 1993-94 season that the Greyhounds had been nationally ranked. Moravian received one point two weeks ago, nine points three weeks ago after receiving three points the week before and one point five weeks ago.

Moravian has played several top 25 teams this season, falling to #1 University of Scranton, 77-58 and #8 Messiah College, 74-68. The Greyhounds did defeat #8 Messiah, 71-64.

Moravian will return to action on Wednesday, February 23rd in a Commonwealth Conference Semifinal game versus Widener University tipping off at 7:00 p.m. in Bethlehem.
