MORAVIAN’S STEPHANIE SEAMAN A FINALIST FOR KODAK ALL-AMERICAN
HONORS
ATLANTA, GA --- Junior forward Stephanie Seaman (Bethlehem, PA/Bethlehem Catholic
HS) of the Moravian College women’s basketball team is one of 40 finalist
for 2005 Kodak/Women’s Basketball Coaches Association All-America Basketball Team
for NCAA Division III announced Monday by the WBCA.
The 40 finalists, who are voted upon by WBCA member coaches in each of the eight WBCA
geographical regions, are now in the running for selection to the 10-member Kodak/WBCA
All-America Team. Finalists.
In addition to Seaman, the other finalist from the region are all from
schools in the Middle Atlantic States Collegiate Athletic Corporation including Taryn Mellody
of the University of Scranton, Alyssa Antolick from DeSales University, Eli Cook of Messiah
College and Jennifer Northcott from Lebanon Valley College.
Seaman helped Moravian to a 24-6 record this season and runner-up finishes
in the 2005 Commonwealth Conference and Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III
Southern Championship Tournaments. The Greyhounds were the top seed in each tournament.
Seaman, who was named to the Commonwealth All-Conference First Team,
led the Greyhounds in scoring with an average of 13.7 points per game. Seaman,
who was named the Most Valuable Player at both the 4th Annual Starters Moravian Winter
Classic and the Catholic Tip-Off Tournament, also led the team with 7.9 rebounds per game
to go with 50 assists, 40 steals, 14 three-pointers and 22 blocked shots.
Seaman, who had eight double-doubles on the year, was also named the Women's
DIII News January Player of the Month. Seaman made 146 of 345 field
goal attempts (42.3 percent) this past season and was 105 of 139 at the foul line (75.5
percent).
