GREYHOUNDS RECEIVE VOTES IN FINAL D3HOOPS.COM TOP 25 WOMEN’S BASKETBALL POLL

STERLING, VA --- The Moravian College women’s basketball team received votes in the final D3hoops.com Top 25 poll released late Monday.

The Greyhounds, who finished the 2004-5 season at 24-6 overall and were 12-2 in Commonwealth Conference action, received six points this week, which is 17th of the 20 schools that received votes after the top 25. The Greyhounds were ranked 23rd in the nation for won week during the season, and it was the first time the Greyhounds were nationally ranked since the 1993-94 season. Moravian was listed among the receiving votes category during seven weeks of the season and was just one spot out of the top 25 once early in the year.

Moravian has played several top 25 teams this season, defeating #10 Messiah College, 71-64, and #14 McDaniel College, 66-51. The Greyhounds fell to #4 University of Scranton, 77-58, and to #10 Messiah, 74-68, and 57-51 in the Commonwealth Conference Championship game.
