MORAVIAN’S AMANDA GAUN NAMED COMMONWEALTH CONFERENCE FIELD
HOCKEY GOALIE OF THE WEEK
ANNVILLE, PA --- Junior goalie Amanda Gaun (Hatboro, PA/Hatboro-Horsham HS) of
the Moravian College field hockey team has been named the Commonwealth Conference Goalie/Defender
of the Week for her performance last week.
Gaun posted a 2-1 record in the cage for Moravian, allowing just three
goals while making 29 saves in three contests. Gaun started the week with
a 1-0 loss at Muhlenberg College in which she had seven saves. Gaun then
picked up her first win of the season with a 3-1 victory over DeSales University that included
eight saves. Gaun finished the week with 14 saves in a 2-1 win versus
FDU-Florham. For the week, Gaun had a 1.00 goals-against average and a
.906 save percentage.
Moravian, which is 2-2 on the season, will return to action on Thursday, September 15th
when the team begins its 2005 Commonwealth Conference season at home with a match versus
Susquehanna University beginning at 4:00 p.m. at Betty Prince Field.
