MORAVIAN’S KAITE COOKE NAMED COMMONWEALTH CONFERENCE WOMEN’S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK

ANNVILLE, PA --- Senior Katie Cooke (Milford, PA/Delaware Valley HS) of the Moravian College women’s tennis team has been named the Commonwealth Conference Women’s Tennis Player of the Week for her performance last week.

Cooke won a trio of singles matches last week for Moravian in a 2-1 week for the Greyhounds. Cooke began the week with a straight sets victory at sixth singles in a 5-4 loss to Lebanon Valley College. She moved up to fifth singles for a straight sets win in an 8-1 victory versus NCAA Division II East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania. Cooke finished the week with a grueling three-set, two-hour victory at sixth singles to clinch the Greyhounds’ 5-4 win over defending Commonwealth Conference champion Elizabethtown College. Cooke did not compete in doubles action last week.

Moravian, now 6-1 overall and 4-1 in the Commonwealth Conference this season, is slated to return to action on Tuesday, September 20th in a conference match at Messiah College beginning at 4:00 p.m.
