MORAVIAN WOMEN’S SOCCER FALLS TO 6TH IN NSCAA MID-ATLANTIC
REGION POLL
MISSION, KS --- The Moravian College women’s soccer team has dropped one spot to
sixth in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America Mid-Atlantic Regional
poll released Tuesday afternoon.
The Greyhounds, who are 5-1 on the season, were not ranked in the first poll of the season
released on September 6th before jumping into fifth place a week ago, the team’s
highest-ever ranking.
Messiah College sits atop the region with a 4-0 record, and the Falcons are followed
by The College of New Jersey (5-0), Johns Hopkins University (7-0), Rowan (NJ) University
(7-0), Wilkes University (6-0) and the Greyhounds. Rounding out the top ten after Moravian
are Haverford College (4-2), Mary Washington (3-3), Elizabethtown College (4-2), Catholic
University (6-0) and York College of Pennsylvania (6-0-1).
The Greyhounds have defeated the University of Mary Washington, 2-0, on September 11th
and lost to Wilkes University, 1-0, on September 17th. Moravian has matches scheduled with
Messiah on October 15th, Haverford on October 5th, Elizabethtown on October 8th and York
on October 27th.
The Greyhounds will host the Albright College on Tuesday, September 20th in a Commonwealth
Conference match beginning at 4:00 p.m. on the HUB Quad in Bethlehem.
