MORAVIAN’S LINDSEY SIRACUSA NAMED COMMONWEALTH CONFERENCE
WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
ANNVILLE, PA --- Senior middle hitter Lindsey Siracusa (Yardley, PA/Pennsbury
HS) of the Moravian College women’s volleyball team has been named the
Commonwealth Conference Women’s Volleyball Player of the Week for her performance
last week.
Siracusa was named the Most Valuable Player at the Elizabethtown College
Blue Jay Classic while leading Moravian to the championship in a 5-0 week for the Greyhounds. Siracusa had
a.306 hitting percentage (65 kills, 21 errors, 144 attempts), 3.25 kills per game, 15 blocks,
ten digs and six service aces in 20 games last week. Siracusa started
the week with 23 kills, a .386 hitting percentage and three blocks in a 3-2 victory over
Messiah College, Moravian’s first Commonwealth Conference win of the season. She
added five kills and two service aces in a 3-0 win over Mitchell College to begin the Blue
Jay Classic before contributing 13 kills, seven blocks and two service aces in a 3-2 victory
versus the University of Scranton. Siracusa had eight kills and three
digs in a 3-0 sweep of Wesleyan (CT) University in the final match of pool play, and she
finished the tournament with 16 kills, four blocks and two service aces in a 3-2 win over
host Elizabethtown.
Moravian, now 14-4 overall and 1-1 in Commonwealth Conference action, is scheduled to
host Susquehanna University on Tuesday, September 27th at 7:00 p.m. in Johnston Hall.
