MORAVIAN WOMEN’S SOCCER REMAINS 6TH IN NSCAA MID-ATLANTIC REGION POLL

MISSION, KS --- The Moravian College women’s soccer team remained sixth in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America Mid-Atlantic Regional poll released Tuesday afternoon.

The Greyhounds, who are 7-1 on the season, were not ranked in the first poll of the season released on September 6th before jumping into fifth place two weeks ago, the team’s highest-ever ranking, and dropping to sixth last week.

Messiah College sits atop the region with a 6-0 record, and the Falcons are followed by The College of New Jersey (7-0), Johns Hopkins University (9-0), Rowan (NJ) University (10-0), Wilkes University (8-0) and the Greyhounds. Rounding out the top ten after Moravian are Haverford College (6-2), the University of Mary Washington (5-3), Elizabethtown College (6-2), and Catholic University (8-0).

The Greyhounds defeated Mary Washington, 2-0, on September 11th and lost to Wilkes University, 1-0, on September 17th. Moravian has matches scheduled with Messiah on October 15th, Haverford on October 5th, and Elizabethtown on October 8th.

The Greyhounds will host the Ursinus College on Wednesday, September 28th in a non-conference match beginning at 4:00 p.m. on the HUB Quad in Bethlehem.
