MORAVIAN WOMEN’S SOCCER FALLS TO 5TH IN NSCAA MID-ATLANTIC REGION POLL

MISSION, KS --- The Moravian College women’s soccer team dropped one spot to fifth in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America Mid-Atlantic Regional poll released Tuesday afternoon.

The Greyhounds, who are 12-3-1 on the season, received their highest-ever regional ranking last week in fourth place after not being ranked the previous week due to a paperwork error. Moravian was ranked sixth in the region the three previous weeks after debuting in the fifth spot in the second poll of the year, which had been Moravian’s highest-ever regional ranking.

Messiah College sits atop the region and the nation with a 14-0 record, and the Falcons are followed by The College of New Jersey (14-0), Rowan (NJ) University (13-1-1), Johns Hopkins University (13-2-1) and the Greyhounds. Rounding out the top ten after Moravian are the University of Mary Washington (11-3), Catholic University (15-0-1), Dickinson College (11-1-3), Haverford College (12-3-1) and Wilkes University (13-2).

The Greyhounds defeated Mary Washington, 2-0, on September 11th and lost to Wilkes University, 1-0, on September 17th, Haverford College 1-0, on October 5th and Messiah College, 3-1, last Saturday.

The Greyhounds are scheduled to play rival Muhlenberg College on Tuesday, October 25th in a non-conference match.
