MORAVIAN’S KELLY APPLEGATE NAMED COMMONWEALTH CONFERENCE WOMEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

ANNVILLE, PA --- Junior forward Kelly Applegate (Easton, PA/Wilson HS) of the Moravian College women’s basketball team has been named the Commonwealth Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for her performance last week.

Applegate had the best game of her career as she led the Greyhounds to an 83-77 come-from-behind victory at DeSales University in the team’s only contest of the week. Applegate scored a career high 31 points on ten-of-12 shooting from the floor and an 11-of-13 performance at the foul line. Applegate also tied her career high with 12 rebounds in the victory, Moravian’s first over DeSales since 1998, and she added two assists and two steals.

Moravian, which is 3-0 on the season, will return to action in its first home game and the 2005-06 Commonwealth Conference opener versus Albright College on Tuesday, November 29th at 8:00 p.m. in Johnston Hall.
