THREE GREYHOUNDS & MORAVIAN SOFTBALL SQUAD RANKED IN THIRD NCAA STATISTICS RELEASE OF 2006 SEASON

INDIANAPOLIS, IN --- The Moravian College softball team is ranked nationally in four statistical categories and three different Greyhound players are ranked in six categories in the third NCAA Division III statistics ranking of the season for games through April 23rd released late Tuesday.

Senior pitcher Meagan Hennessy (Freehold, NJ/Freehold Township HS) is ranked in four categories. Hennessy is third in earned run average at 0.41, tied for third in saves with four, tied for 41st in victories with 14 and 24th in strikeouts per seven innings with an average of 8.8.

Sophomore second baseman Beth Paly (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall HS) is first in the nation in toughest to strikeout, striking out just once in 105 at-bats while freshman outfielder Erica Klepeisz (Nazareth, PA/Nazareth HS) is 33rd in hit by pitch per game at 0.17.

Moravian is ninth in the country in ERA at 0.98, tied for 26th in winning percentage at .800 (24-6), tied for 42nd in home runs per game at 0.60 and 46th in batting average at .333.

The Greyhounds, who are now 26-6 overall, are slated to return to action on Thursday, April 27th in a Commonwealth Conference doubleheader at Albright College beginning at 3:00 p.m.
