TWO GREYHOUNDS & MORAVIAN SOFTBALL SQUAD
RANKED IN FIFTH NCAA STATISTICS RELEASE OF 2006 SEASON
INDIANAPOLIS, IN --- The Moravian College softball team is ranked
nationally in three statistical categories and two different Greyhound
players are ranked in five categories in the fifth NCAA Division
III statistics ranking of the season for games through May 7th released
late Tuesday.
Senior
pitcher Meagan Hennessy (Freehold, NJ/Freehold Township
HS) is ranked in four categories. Hennessy is third in
earned run average at 0.45, tied for second in saves with five,
tied for 10th in victories with 22 and 32nd in strikeouts per seven
innings with an average of 8.3.
Sophomore
second baseman Beth Paly (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall HS)
is 11th in the nation in toughest to strikeout, striking out just
twice in 132 at-bats.
Moravian is second in the country in ERA at 0.86, tied for 19th
in winning percentage at .825 (33-7), and tied for 22nd in fielding
percentage at .965.
The Greyhounds, who are now 33-7 overall, are slated to return
to action on Thursday, May 11th at the 2006 NCAA Division III Regional
Tournament at Salisbury University. Moravian, the fourth seed, will
play fifth seed King’s College in the first game of the tournament
at 10:00 a.m.
