MORAVIAN WOMEN’S BASKETBALL TEAM UP TO 15TH IN D3HOOPS.COM FIRST REGULAR SEASON TOP 25 POLL

STERLING, VA --- The Moravian College women’s basketball team, which is off to a 4-0 start, has moved up to 15th in the D3hoops.com first regular season Top 25 Poll announced Tuesday. The complete poll can be viewed at http://www.d3hoops.com/top25/.

The Greyhounds, under the direction of 19-year head coach Mary Beth Spirk, were ranked 19th in the preseason poll. Moravian has won their first four games of the year by an average of 15 points, and the team began its 2005-06 Commonwealth Conference season Tuesday night with an 80-66 victory over Albright College that allowed 13 of 14 players to see at least ten minutes of action.

Millikin University remained the top team in the poll followed by Bowdoin College.

Moravian is scheduled to play 12th ranked the University Scranton on Wednesday, December 7th in Johnston Hall. The Greyhounds will also play 16th ranked Messiah twice during the Commonwealth Conference season, in Johnston Hall on January 25th and in Grantham on February 11th. Both games are slated to begin at 6:00 p.m.

Moravian will return to action in a non-conference game at Lincoln (PA) PA University on Thursday, December 1st at 7:00 p.m.
