MORAVIAN’S KELLY APPLEGATE & WOMEN’S BASKETBALL TEAM RANKED IN
2nd NCAA STATISTICS RELEASE OF 2006

INDIANAPOLIS, IN --- The Moravian College women’s basketball team has one player ranked in the second NCAA III Division women’s basketball statistical ranking released late Tuesday while the Greyhounds are ranked in six team categories. The statistics include games through January 8th.

Junior forward Kelly Applegate (Easton, PA/Wilson HS) leads the nation in field goal percentage for a second straight week at 67.0 percent, making 73 of 109 field goal attempts in the first 12 games of the season.

The Greyhounds are 22nd in the nation in scoring average at 76.2 points per game, tied for 15th in the country in won-lost percentage at 91.7 percent (11-1), 42nd in field goal percentage at 43.2 percent (321-738), 21st in scoring margin at +18.3 points per game, 46th in free throw percentage at 71.4 percent (227-318) and tied for 49th in rebounding margin at +7.0 rebounds pre game.

The Greyhounds are 11-1 on the season and will return to action on Wednesday, January 11th when the team travels to Lebanon Valley College for a Commonwealth Conference game tipping off at 6:00 p.m.
