TEAM RANKED
IN 4th NCAA STATISTICS RELEASE OF 2006
INDIANAPOLIS, IN --- The Moravian College women’s basketball team has one player
ranked in the fourth NCAA III Division women’s basketball statistical ranking released
Wednesday while the Greyhounds are ranked in the top 50 in three team categories. The statistics
include games through January 22nd.
Junior forward Kelly Applegate (Easton, PA/Wilson HS) dropped to tenth
the nation in field goal percentage at 60.6 percent, making 103 of 170 field goal attempts
in the first 16 games of the season. Applegate was the nation’s
leader in the first two NCAA statistical rankings of the year.
The Greyhounds are 39th in the nation in scoring average at 73.3 points per game, tied
for 41st in the country in won-lost percentage at 81.3 percent (13-3), and 50th in scoring
margin at +13.2 points per game.
The Greyhounds are 13-3 on the season and will return to action on Wednesday, January
25th when the team hosts nationally-ranked Messiah College in a Commonwealth Conference
game tipping off at 6:00 p.m. in Johnston Hall.
