MORAVIAN’S SWAN NAMED COMMONWEALTH
CONFERENCE WOMEN’S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
ANNVILLE,
PA --- Sophomore Dyana Swan (Branchburg, NJ/Somerville HS)
of the Moravian College women’s tennis team has been named
the Commonwealth Conference Women’s Tennis Player of the Week
for her performance last week.
Swan had a perfect 4-0 week with two wins each
in singles and doubles as the Greyhounds won two matches and clinched
their 13th straight postseason appearance. Swan
had a 7-5, 6-0 win at second singles and teamed with classmate Kelly
Gerbino (Easton, PA/Easton HS) for an 8-2 victory at third
doubles in Moravian’s 6-3 win over NCAA Division II East Stroudsburg
University of Pennsylvania. Swan then posted a
3-6, 6-1, 11-9 victory at second singles and had an 8-3 win with
Gerbino at third doubles as the Greyhounds defeated Juniata College,
7-2, to clinch a spot in the upcoming Commonwealth Conference Team
Tournament, Moravian’s 13th straight postseason appearance
as the Greyhounds have played in the conference championship match
the last 12 years.
Moravian will return to action on Thursday, October 5th in a non-conference
match versus DeSales University beginning at 4:30 p.m. at Hoffman
Courts.
