for 220 yards including three automatic first downs apiece. Lycoming
took the opening kickoff and drove 76 yards on 11 plays for a 7-0

to punt three times, the Greyhounds finally got on the scoreboard
with 13:17 remaining in the second quarter on a 26-yard field goal
by kicker Brian Reckenbeil (Branchburg, NJ/Somerville HS).
The score was set up by a fumble recovery by defensive lineman Robert
Stockley on a ball knocked loose by linebacker Arturo
Duran (Ridgewood, NJ/Ridgewood HS) at the Lycoming 11-yard
line. Lycoming would connect on a 19-yard field goal with 1:47 left
in the first half for 10-3 Lycoming lead. The field goal capped
a 13-play, 47-yard drive in 7:25 for the Warriors. The Greyhounds
would get another three points on a 23-yard field goal by Reckenbeil
with just 29 seconds left before the intermission. Moravian moved
the ball 69 yards on eight plays in just 1:11. The field goal was

would take its first lead of the game on a three-yard run by running
back Marc Panepinto (Perkiomenville, PA/Boyertown HS)
to cap a ten-play, 69-yard drive on the first possession of the
second half. Reckenbeil’s made the extra-point,
his 20th consecutive point-after conversion for a 13-10 lead Moravian

ran for a career high 85 yards on 16 carries as starting running
back Chris Jacoubs was limited to just five yards
on six carries due to an injury. Moravian would get the ball back
when Stockley intercepted a pass at the Moravian
35-yard line. After a seven-yard return by Stockley,
the Greyhounds were forced to punt after three plays. Lycoming would
retake the lead on a five-play, 81-yard drive. On the play before
the touchdown, the Warriors had a 56-yard run after Moravian committed
a personal foul on an incomplete third down pass. Lycoming led 17-13
lead with 12:54 remaining in the fourth quarter. On Moravian’s
ensuing drive, the Greyhounds would drive down to the Lycoming 10-yard
line. On second and eight from the ten, quarterback Jerry
Venturino hit tight end Kris Bisci (Easton, PA/Easton
HS) with a ten-yard touchdown pass, however, the play was
called back on a Moravian ineligible receiver down field penalty.
On a fourth and 26 play from the 28-yard line, Venturino
just missed a wide open wide receiver Cletus Kilker
in the end zone after the Lycoming defensive back fell down. Venturino
completed 11 of 28 passes for 85 yards; and he ran for 11 yards
on three carries. Wide receiver Shawn Martell (Bethlehem,
PA/Bethlehem Catholic HS) was the Greyhounds leading receiver
with four receptions for 44 yards. Moravian would force Lycoming
to punt on its next possession; however, Venturino
was intercepted at the Lycoming three-yard line. The Greyhounds
would force another Warrior punt that traveled just 29 yards, giving
Moravian possession at the Lycoming 42-yard line with 2:19 left
in the game. The Greyhounds would drive down to the 11-yard line
after a 13-yard run by Panepinto. On the next play,
Venturino was just long again to an open wideout Russ Demko
in the end zone. After incomplete passes on second and third down,
Venturino did hit Bisci, however,
Bisci was tackled after just a five-yard completion,
turning the ball over to the Warriors at the six-yard line with
1:31 to play and both teams out of timeouts. Lycoming ran three
plays to run out the clock. Linebacker Andrew Morrissey
(Emmaus, PA/Emmaus HS) led the Moravian defense with 12

in MAC action. Moravian took the opening kickoff and 34-yard return
by sophomore Antuan Dixon (Kansas City, MO/St. Mark’s
HS), the Greyhounds started at their own 38-yard line.
However, Moravian would punt after picking up nine yards on three
plays. Wilkes began its first possession at its own 31-yard line.
The Colonels would pickup one first down before Moravian senior
defensive back Justin Klement (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall HS)
forced a fumble the ball at the Moravian 38-yard line with
Greyhound senior linebacker Cliff Garr (Easton, PA/Notre
Dame HS) recovering to give Moravian possession. The Greyhounds
moved down to Wilkes-six yard line after three third down completions
for first down by Moravian freshman quarterback Ryan Rempe
(Dickson City, PA/Mid-Valley HS). However, Rempe
was sacked twice moving the ball back to the 14-yard line. Sophomore
kicker Brian Reckenbeil lined up for a 31-yard field goal but a
Wilkes player came off the right side of the line to block the kick,
keeping the score at 0-0 with to play in the first quarter. Wilkes
took over at its own 21-yard line, and the Colonels moved the ball
to the Moravian 11-yard line. The Greyhound defense would stiffen
and force a 30-yard field goal attempt with the ball going through
the middle of the uprights to give Wilkes a 3-0 lead with 1:59 remaining
in the first quarter. On the ensuing kickoff, Moravian junior wide
receiver Sean Hill (West Reading, PA/Wyomissing HS)
had a 57-yard kickoff return to give the Greyhounds the ball at

with the ball returned to the Wilkes 42-yard line. The Colonels
would eventually punt on the third play of the second quarter. Moravian
would only run three plays before punting again with Wilkes taking
over on its own 44-yard line after a fair catch. The Colonels mixed
the pass and the run to move down inside the ten-yard line. The
Greyhound defense stiffened again including a near interception
at the goal line by sophomore defensive lineman Don Maxwell
(Berkeley Heights, NJ/Governor Livingston HS), forcing
Wilkes to attempt a 23-yard field goal. However, Moravian freshman
running back Edward Savoth (Brielle, NJ/Manasquan HS)
blocked the kick with freshman defensive back Brad Bodine
(Mt. Bethel, PA/Bangor HS) giving the Greyhounds possession
at the Wilkes 15-yard line. Moravian would pickup two first downs
including a 16-yard run by Rempe before attempting
punting the ball away to Wilkes. The snap was high forcing Greyhound
sophomore punter Michael Voskian (Brielle, NJ/Manasquan
HS) to slow his kick. Wilkes blocked the punt and recovered.
On the first play of the drive, the Colonels connected on a 29-yard
touchdown pass. The extra-point gave the Colonels a 10-0 lead with
4:35 remaining in the first half. The Greyhounds started their next
drive at their own 37-yard line. Moravian moved into Wilkes territory
but ended up punting with Voskian’s punt
rolling out of bounds at the two-yard line. Wilkes started the second
half with a good kickoff return to place the ball at their 41-yard
line. After two plays for no gain and a sack by Moravian senior
defensive end Nick Feo (Hampton, NJ/Voorhees HS),
Wilkes punted the ball to the Greyhounds. Feo had
a pair of sacks among his three tackles. Moravian would take possession
at its own 25-yard line. The Greyhounds would get a first down by
penalty before Rempe fumbled after being hit, and
the Colonels covered the ball at the Moravian 46-yard line, giving
Wilkes the ball. The Colonels lost yardage again before punting
after three plays. The Greyhounds took possession at their own 24-yard
line. Moravian moved into Wilkes territory with a first down by
penalty and an 18-yard pass from sophomore quarterback Marc
Braxmeier (Center Valley, PA/Allentown Central Catholic HS)

before punting as well. Moravian moved the ball to midfield with
one first down before punting. Wilkes took over at its 28-yard line.
The Colonels picked up a first down before punting as both defenses

line. The Greyhounds picked up a pair of first downs, including
a completion from Braxmeier to Bisci
before punting. On the first play of the drive, Wilkes connected
on an 80-yard touchdown pass and run. The extra-point gave the Colonels
