MORAVIAN’S HEIM & POLLARD HONORED

METAIRIE,
LA --- Freshman pole vaulter Anna Heim (Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown
HS) and head coach Doug Pollard of the
Moravian College women’s indoor track & field team have
been honored as the Mideast Region Women’s Field Athlete of
the Year and Women’s Coach of the Year by the United States
Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced
Wednesday.
Heim, pictured in the middle of the photo at
right receiving award at NCAA Championships banquet on March 8th,
won the pole vault at the 2007 Middle Atlantic Conference Championships
at a height of 3.81 meters (12 feet, six inches) and heads into
this weekend’s NCAA Division III National Championships ranked
second in the event.
Pollard,
pictured at left, led the Greyhounds to their 11th MAC Indoor title
in the last 12 years this season and has a total of four student-athletes,
Heim and sophomore Christine Kihm (Quakertown,
PA/Quakertown HS) on the women’s team and juniors
Ozzie Brown (Plymouth Meeting, PA/Plymouth Whitemarsh HS) and Nathaniel Tussey (Perkiomenville, PA/Boyertown
HS) from the men’s squad heading to the NCAA Division
III National Championships this Friday and Saturday, March 9th and
10th at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, Indiana.
