BETHLEHEM, PA --- Three Moravian College student-athletes, seniors Margo Kokolus (Orefield, PA/Parkland HS), Erin Recker (Catasauqua, PA/Catasauqua HS) and Jenny Hackleman (Solvang, CA/Rutgers Prep {NJ} HS), were honored with awards at the 2007 Lehigh Valley Association of Intercollegiate Athletics for Women Annual Awards luncheon hosted by Moravian Wednesday.

The LVAIAW is made up of seven schools, Cedar Crest College, DeSales University, Lafayette College, Lehigh University, Kutztown University of Pennsylvania, Moravian and Muhlenberg College. For pictures from the event, click here.

Kokolus earned her award in the sport of women’s tennis after leading Moravian to a 12-1 record last fall and its first-ever NCAA Division III National Championship Tournament appearance. Kokolus named to the Commonwealth All-Conference First Team while posting a 9-8 record at first singles for the Greyhounds. Kokolus was also 6-10 in doubles action while playing the top spot with senior Courtney Hall. Moravian is now 14-2 overall and will participate in the NCAA Division III Regional at Washington & Lee University on Friday, May 4th when the team takes on Johns Hopkins University at 2:00 p.m. in a first round match. However, Kokolus will not be playing due to an injury that has sidelined her for the entire spring season.

Recker was honored for her prowess on the track. This past winter, Recker won the 55-meter dash at the 2007 Middle Atlantic Conference Championship in a time of 7.34 seconds, the fourth consecutive year she has won the event at the MAC Indoor Championship meet. Over her career, Recker has qualified for the NCAA Division III National Championships in the 55-meter dash indoors and the 100 and 200-meter dashes outdoors. She placed tenth in the 55-meter dash at the 2005 NCAA Indoor Meet. Recker, who has helped Moravian to three indoor MAC team championships and two outdoors, has also won a total of nine MAC Championships in her career with two wins in the 100-meter dash outdoors, two in the 4x100-meter relay outdoors and one in the 4x200-meter relay indoors in addition to her four 55-meter dash titles indoors. Recker is part of Moravian’s outdoor 4x100-meter relay squad that set the school record and provisionally qualified for the 2007 NCAA Division III Outdoor National Championships on April 21st.

Hackleman, who was named Moravian’s LVAIAW Outstanding Athlete for the school, helped Moravian's women's basketball team to a 19-11 overall record and the 2007 Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference Division III Southern Championship. Hackleman averaged 11.2 points per contest while contributing 65 assists, 50 steals, and she led the team in rebounds with 229 and in blocked shots with 32 this season. Hackleman was also named to the Commonwealth All Conference Second Team. Hackleman finished out her career with 814 rebounds, which is third all-time, and with 1,161 points, which is 11th all-time.
