TWO MORAVIAN FOOTBALL PLAYERS RANKED IN
FINAL 2006 NCAA DIVISION III STATISTICS
INDIANAPOLIS,
IN --- The Moravian College football team had two student-athletes
ranked in the final 2006 NCAA Division III statistical rankings,
and the Greyhounds are ranked in the top 50 in one team category.
Sophomore kicker Brian Reckenbeil (Branchburg, PA/Somerville
HS), pictured at right, was tied for 40th in field goals
per game at 0.8. Sophomore linebacker Andrew Morrissey (Emmaus,
PA/Emmaus HS), pictured below, was tied for 17th in the
country in forced fumbles per game at 0.33.
Moravian
was 21st in the country in kickoff returns with an average of 21.98
yards per return.
The Greyhounds completed the 2006 season with a 4-6 record, and
the team was 4-5 in its final season as a member of the Middle Atlantic
Conference. Moravian will become an associate member of the Centennial
Conference for football only in 2007.
